February 5, 2010

Bravo School of Art has several upcoming workshops, including:

DRAWING WITH PASTELS

Friday, February 5, 1pm – 5pm

Misty Hawkins

Explore the possibilities. Learn basic techniques of creating textures, and blending and layering pastels on colored paper. Making a still life while learning about color relationships. Beginners are welcome as well as those with drawing experience.

Fee: $50 members / $58 non-members + $15 Materials Fee

HAND WOVEN LAVENDER SACHET

Sunday, February 7, 10am – 2pm

Nadine Spier

Learn how to weave fragrant lavender sachets using a portable hand-held loom. Wrap the loom, weave a small piece of fabric, fill with freshly dried organic lavender or other herbs, and stitch it closed. A variety of embellishments will be provided for decoration. Also learn how to dry your own lavender and how to strip the buds to make potpourri. These sachets make great gifts! You may also use the sachets in linen drawers or inhale during stressful moments to soothe and relax. As a wonderful traveling project, the loom can easily fit in your purse. The fabric can also be used for lavender lapel pins, pin-cushions, and amulet necklaces. The loom is yours to keep.

Fee: $50 members / $58 non-members + $27 Materials Fee
