Visions Art Quilt Gallery and Jean Isaacs San Diego Theater Collaborate on Art Opening

July 29, 2008

Visions Art Quilt Gallery at Liberty Station announces a new exhibition called “Figuratively Speaking” beginning August 9, 2008 and running through October 5, 2008.  The human form was the inspiration for 16 contemporary quilt artists whose work is featured in this exhibition.  The work spans many styles from photo-realistic to the fantastic.  The artists all use the human form or face to tell a story or make a political, cultural or humorous statement about the human condition.

The opening reception will be on August 9, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Visions Art Quilt Gallery.  The reception will also feature a performance by Annie Boyer, from Jean Isaacs San Diego Theater, who has choreographed an original work inspired by the art in the exhibition.

The Visions Art Quilt Gallery is located at 2825 Dewey Road, San Diego, CA  92106, and is open Tuesday through Sunday, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.  For more information visit www.quiltvisions.org, or call 619.546.4872.
